Qasr Awlad Dabab
It is one of dozens of palaces in Tunisia’s southeastern region. Qasr Awlad Dabab is a warehouse and fortified building built by local communities on top of a mountain in order to repel attacks by nomadic tribes, located in the Tataouine state in southern Tunisia.
The palace consists of a group of rooms that are used for housing and for storing grain and farming tools.
The palace was named after Awlad Dabab, who are from the tribes of Banu Sulaym, and Ibn Khaldun mentioned them in his introduction and attributed them to Sulaym bin Mansour bin Ikrimah bin Ikramah bin Khadfa bin Qais. The palace is 14 km south of Tataouine and is one of the paths that tourists visit and stay in, as it has an antique inn.
